Oral History Program

Do you have a story to tell about your life in Byron? The museum encourages you to share your memories with our Oral History Program. Those participating will be part of an audio recording with a museum staff member or volunteer who will ask questions about their lives. Previous oral history topics include:

  • Growing up in Byron
  • School days
  • Farming
  • Byron businesses
  • The Railroad
  • World War II and the Homefront

Oral histories provide a glimpse into Byron’s past that might otherwise not be preserved. The Byron Museum hosts a weekly gathering of local Byronites (anyone is welcome!) who gather at the museum every Thursday morning to reminiscence about Byron memories.
