Come see the quilts! We welcome you to come and view the Byron Museum’s 21st Annual Quilt Show from July 11-13. Last year, over 60 beautiful quilts and wall hangings were displayed throughout the museum during ByronFest. Admission is free!
Quilters and fabric artists are also invited to enter their fabric works of art in this judged show. Entry in the Quilt Show is Wednesday, July 9th from 2-7pm at the Byron Museum, located at 110 N Union Street. Items will be reviewed and selected for awards by a judge, and viewers will also have an opportunity to vote on their favorite quilt or wall hanging to win a “People’s Choice” award. The main categories are: Quilts, Entrant’s First Quilt, Youth, or Wearable Art, Wall Hangings, and Just for Show. Cash prizes will be awarded for first & second places. Entry in the Quilt Show costs $5.00 per article, but Youth or Just for Show entries are free.
The Quilt Show will be open for visitors on the following dates and times: Friday, July 11th from 5pm to 8pm, Saturday, July 12th from 9am to 7pm, and Sunday, July 13th from 11am to 2pm. The Byron Museum is located at 110 N. Union Street in Byron, Illinois. Parking is available on the north side of the Byron High School, located at 696 N. Colfax Street. Shuttle bus pickup is also on the north side of the High School circle drive. (Watch for the Shuttle Bus signs directing you to the High School parking lot and bus stop.) Stops will be made at the athletic complex, United Church of Byron, at the corner of 3rd & Washington Streets, and at the Byron Museum.
