Volunteers

Volunteers are critical to the ongoing success of the Byron Museum of History. Whatever your talents or interests we invite you to participate in your local history through volunteering.

We offer activities and events for children and adults, and from time to time, we also require the talents of volunteers with special skills such as electricians and carpenters. We’re also a great option for students looking to fulfill their community service hours. Please contact us if you’d like to learn more about our volunteer program. A few activities are listed below:

  • Exhibit Research and Development
  • Pit Toilet Digs (Outhouse Archaeology)
  • Research Projects
  • Special Events
  • Docent Training (Giving Tours)
  • Maintenance, Painting & Cleaning
  • Model Railroading
  • Artifact Restoration
  • Database Archiving

Our volunteers are treated to an annual dinner every spring, and several other group activities throughout the year.
